In 2006, the GenCorp Foundation distributed $550,450 to
education in the form of program grants and scholarships.
Through the Educational Matching Gift Program, GenCorp
employees and retirees have their gifts to schools and
universities matched by the foundation. In 2006, $151,324
was paid out in matching funds. All together, 92 percent of the foundation's 2006 giving was directed to education.

Educational grants are awarded to:

Colleges and universities whose activities and programs
support and encourage educational excellence in science
and engineering and other endeavors related to GenCorp's
core technology competencies;

Educational programs that promote diversity and provide
educational opportunity to economically disadvantaged students; and,

K-12 schools that address specific improvements and
opportunities for academic excellence in the areas of
math, science and technology.
